Susanna (FULLER) WHITE, widow of Willima WHITE, one of the chief men of the colony, died, leaving a widow with two little boys to care for, one of them Peregrine WHITE, who was born while the "Mayflower" was lying at Cape Cod, the first English child born in New England. Theirs was the first wedding ceremony performed in the new colony. They were married before the magistrate, Governor Bradford, and with public solemnities entered into the covenant of marriage. HEATON, Vernon, 1980, The Mayflower; pages 86, 87, 94 Susannah WHITE, with her husband, William WHITE and son Resolved WHITE, arrived at Cap Cod Bay, Massachusetts, on the ship "Mayflower" sailing 16 Sep (new style) 1620 from from Barbican, Plymouth, Devon, England, and on 9 Nov 1620 "land ahoy" was called out for the first time since the "Mayflower" had sailed out of Pymouth Sound, sixty-four days earlier. William WHITE was another victim of the epidemic at Plymouth, and died on 21 Feb 1621.
