Jonathan was one of the first 39 to settle in Woodstockin Apl. 1687. Hewas chosen surveyor in Nov. 1690. JohnHolmes and Jonathan Peake weredirected Oct. 9, 1710, "To meet committees from killingly and Mashamoquet (Pomfret) at sun one hour high at farthest of Friday next if it be fair, if not, the next fair day,to advise and state a suitable place on Quinebaug River where it may bemost commodious for a bridge
