Stories have it that Wm Walter went to AK to hunt for gold, but did not find any. At time did short order cooking for job. Returned to MO and had gold piece/s that he carried with him. Jim's sister Marianne says this is not so. Brothers Wm Walter, James Higgins and Dr Harry Field Parker went to Julesburg, CO and then back to MO. James Higgins and Nellie Foster Parker returned there after their marriage and built a home (There first home was a "Soddie") with lumber brought from Warrensburg MO. Raised famlily (11 children) See info packet from Foster Howitt. Some descendants still there. We call them the "Colorado Bunch". There are now no living children of James Higgins and Nellie Foster Parker as of Dec 1999. Jim's Dad was born Nov 1896 son of William Walter. Must have been near Feb of 1896 if -W.W. went to Alaska before he was married --probably did and he hunted for gold. Wedding was at The Oak Grove Church by Rev G.F. Wallace. See Claude W.
