Thomas Henshaw was living on Otterdam in Surry County, Virginia, by 1638 when his already well-established property was mentioned as adjoining that of a new patent of land to Captain William Brocas. He is presumably the same Thomas Henshaw who was granted land in this part of Virginia under the second charter of King James I on 23 May 1609.
