In 1765 he received from his father's estate 1/2 of 630 acres on Moutain Run, Culpepper Co., VA., bought by his father from Robert Talieferro.
Served in the French & Indian War as a soldier in Byrd's Regment in 1759 and received a warrant for 50 acres on Cartwright Creek, Beech Fork, Nelson Co., KY. Went to KY about 1779. Obtained 1400 Acres of land in Nelson and Washington Co's KY. See the book "Nall Families of America" Page 820.

Richard & Gizzell lived on Beech Fork River on the Washington Co., side of the river called 'Parker's Landing' later called Frederick Town. This was located on the road between Bardstown & Spingfield. His business were sold in 1803 and the town name changed to Frederickburg.
Will settlement - 4 Jan 1808, Nelson (later part of it was called Washington Co) Co., KY. - Near the city of Fredericksberg, KY (originally called Parker, KY)
He operated a Shipping Port, Warehouse, Boat Pen, Sawmill, Gristmill and a Tavern. Was sold in 1803 and the name changed to Frederickburg KY.

Final Deed of John Parker’s land (Deceased) was signed 12 Jun 1765.
