A draft apprenticeship indenture for Thomas for 1809 included the agreement from October 1809, 4 years into his 7 year apprenticeship as a ropemaker is between Thomas Brew and Samuel & John Brookman, replacing the original from 2 July 1805 between Thomas Brew and Samuel Brookman senior who had recently died, states the desire to complete the rest of the 7 year apprenticeship, and confirms the originally agreed rates of pay of 4s. per week for the 1st and 2nd years, 5s. per week for the 3rd and 4th years, 6s. per week for the 5th and 6th years, and 7s. per week for the 7th year. 2. His daughter, Mary Ann, was present at his death. 3. The Curate of Chepstow Parish Cemetery was Mr. Sandamore.
NOTE: Mary Ann had 2 illegitimate children and spent much time in and out of Chepstow work houses.
