In summary, the evidence indicates that a Thornton uncle and nephew, i.e., Oliver andRobert Thornton, both of Hingham, Norfolk, married a Smith aunt andniece, i.e. Frances and Anne Smith. Kinship betweenFrances and AnneSmith is deduced from their respective wills in which they claimkinship to the same six people.
